Steps

for example of data set:

In 30 toss of a coin, the following sequence of heads(H) and tails(T) was observed.

Test at 0.05 level of significance whether the sequence is random or not.

• Goto variable view and add the variables

  

  • in the label section:

    

• Goto the data view and add the data

  

• Goto data view and add the given data.

• Click on Analyze tab > NonParametric Tests > Legacy Dialogs > Runs.

  

• Add the required variable in Test Variable List and click Options.

  

• Tick the Descriptives and Quartiles and click Continue.
